Yes, there is hope.
I went from an injection fraction of 19% to 45% and another
cardiomyopthy victim I know of went from 15% up to near 50%.
An apparent combination of right medications, better diet
(sodium <2mg/day, fluid <2 litres/day), and regular moderate
exercise seemed to do the job in both our cases.
My cardiologist had told me the ejection fraction had no where
to go but DOWN so got on a transplant list. The EJ then went
up – and I’m off the list.

Is the above saying that one should drink less than 2 liters of fluid
per day? If so, why?

Yes – consume would be a better word than drink, since it includes fluid
in food.
Because the head of the heart transplant unit at the University of
Pittsburgh Medical Center told me "Maximum of 2 litres of fluid a day.".
One of the problems with cardiomyapathy is the accumulation of fluid
in the body (ankles, legs, lungs). More fluid intake, more fluid
accumulation, more fluid in lungs, more trouble breathing, more
trouble living.
