catheterism

I have an stenotic aortic valve, and I am supposed to have a cath, before the operation, but my
cardiologist, want me to have the same day of the operation, or the day before (if it cannot be
arranged) because he feel it is too dangerous for me to have it.
I have not yet decided where I want to have my operation, I was considering the Cleveland Clinic,
because of the "minimally invasive cardiac surgery"  dr. Cosgrove performs on patients without
other problems,  but I cannot exclude the possibility of other complications (the need for  a
bypass or other things) without the cath…
Do you think my cardiologist is an allarmist, with reasons, or wants me go to the surgeon with
whom he works?
I think my valve measure is down to 7, but I manage a life more or less normal, house work,
shopping, etc.. I cannot run but for a very short distance, and I get out of breath if I do it.
I should decide pretty soon, even if I don’t want to. Can I have some feedback, or opinions from
doctors and patients?
thanks
Tina
