PVCs-they're baaaack!!!

Well, just when I thought I had gotten rid of these damn things after 8
months, they are back.  Last week during a game of racquetball, pow,
they hit.  Then again last night.  I went for a short 2 mile jog, got
home showered, then about an hour later while sitting in my recliner,
pow, they hit again.  If I stood up and walked around they would go
away, but as soon as I layed down, pow, it would start again.  I finally
had to sit up in bed to fall asleep.  Tha-dump tha-dump
skippy-dump,,,,tha-dump tha- dump skippy-dump!!!!! And this is a benign
condition says my cardiologist????  I havent had any caffeine, alchohol,
or nasal decongestants in a year.  I guess it is the excercise that is
doing it.  I am currently taking 25 mgs toprol-xl and 400 mgs magnesium
once a day.  I guess that excercise is out for awhile.  Although I had
one cardiologist who told me to just play through the PVCs.  Yea, right,
when  it feels like a potatoe sized jumping bean is in my chest.  He is
no longer on retainer.  My current cardiologist put me on a yearly
checkup status because I had seemed to get rid of them last
thanksgiving.  Oh well, back I go.

Fascinating, particularly from one with university connections, a
presumably methodical Systems Analyst who is athletic and disciplined and
    articulate to boot.

A cardiologist is a cardiologist is a cardiologist.  You might be wise to
check each one’s credentials clear back to reputation of and grades in med
school.  "Benign" may well be right, but read up on your own symptoms in a
good, NEW book, say Yale Heart Book, Mayo – or look into the Cleveland
Clinic at its Web site, before going through endless cycles of local
    cardiologists.  A field in flux.

And this is a good newsgroup for such stuff.  A retrobrowse?

    Hope you will post more.

I used to get them quite frequently most all the time, for about 3 years, then
the intervals slowed way down and became random, with spurts on a weekly
basis, then months. Today, once or twice a year I will have an attack lasting
about a day, usually just after doing a very hard but short run up a hill
or 6 flights of stairs. And, I am not on any medication, smoke, drink alot
of coffee, drink alcohol mostly once a week. Multi mineral supliments seemed
to worsen the condition from what I used to notice a few years ago, but after
I started taking two Tums a day, my heart stabalized pretty well, maybe
    just coincidence.

Mario, welcome to the club.  My PVC’s were gone for years, then suddenly
returned due to stress.  I’m taking Lopressor 25mg 2x a day, and 1/2mg
klonopin morning and night (sometimes at night I make it 1mg klonopin).
The PVC’s are gone, or are at least at the level that I can’t feel them.

Have you had any sudden changes/stresses in your life that might have
brought on the PVC’s?  I know there are other causes, but stress is the big
    one.
