I have a friend on Tambacor. She takes a battery of medications for
apparent irregular heartbeat. She recently [was!] changed to Tambacor
and it seems to give her headaches. Has not yet –after a week– been
able to restore heartbeat "in rhythm".
I can find NOTHING about Tambacor on the WWWeb. I wonder who makes it,
what side effects there are for it, where on the WWW or User Group
Search I can find something about it?
She also has taken coumadin –which I guess is a blood thinner– on a
longterm basis. What physiological effects might be expected from long
term use of coumadin?
Thanks, anyone, for your help!

I assume that Tambacor is the same as Tambocor in Holland. I use it daily
(2 * 50 mg) to control my irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation) with
great success. I started with a large initial dose of 300 mg daily, which
effectively stopped the afib. I experience no side effects whatsoever.
My cardiologist advised me to continue using it for one year and then
stop gradually.
Tambocor is made by 3M Health Care Ltd. in Loughborough (UK).
